Aspie Friendly - A Friendlier Place for the Autism Spectrum

Aspie Friendly Takes a Friendlier Approach

Using Aspie Logic Makes Sense

An Aspie Friendly Consulting session is very different from the way most autism professionals work. Many Aspie Friendly clients tell us a close variation of the following:

"I knew there had to be something different out there. We've tried so much, and some things worked... For the most part it was hit-or-miss. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I just knew there had to be a better way to do this."

It makes sense that loving parents and other family members, who are not on the spectrum, can't put their finger on what they are looking for, in the way of help. It's because to think of "that thing" would be using Aspie Logic, which is something that is difficult for those who are not on the autism spectrum! It has to to with the way the brain processes information, and the way we connect or deconstruct similar or dissimilar items and processes, and process (in our brain) those things in a certain way. The brain is very complex, and the way it works is a mystery to most. But one really great thing about the autism spectrum is our ability to deconstruct. It is precisely this ability which enables "Aspie Logic". Aspie Friendly uses the Aspergerian ability to understand the natural thinking processes of others who think in a similar way, and  communicates that information, and viable solutions which support it, to those who don't process the same information in the same way.

It's a little like using a translator to fix a problem. The problem might not be as big as it seems, but the inability to communicate make the problems nearly impossible to fix.
